Lori Schmidt of the Scottsdale Fire Department ‚ Public Education Officer and Community Relations, joined Stay Alive Arizona in the fall of 2005 when she coordinated efforts with Scottsdale Fire to participate in the annual Stay Alive Arizona Teen Leadership Retreat at Saguaro Ranch. Lori worked together with Native Air Emergency Rescue, PMT, the Scottsdale Police Department, Scottsdale Healthcare and Green Acres Mortuary in order to engage students in a Live Extrication Demonstration. Since 2005, Lori has continued to develop and implement prevention programs for Stay Alive Arizona.

Prior to joining Stay Alive Arizona, Lori’s background included journalism and public relations. From 1999-2005, Lori worked at Phoenix Children's Hospital serving as the public relations liaison to the Foundation and Injury Prevention.  In 2005, Lori joined the Scottsdale Fire Department Community Relations section and has immersed herself in issues that protect children from harm.  She has been involved in prevention education including water safety, juvenile fire setting intervention, child passenger safety, and teen driving safety.  Lori’s passion is in injury prevention and believes that together, we can save lives.  Lori currently serves on the Board of Directors for Stay Alive Arizona as the Public Relations Director.
